National Recognition

QiSSThe Diamonds Study Centre, along with its sister centre at Northampton Saints, was awarded the “Quality in Study Support (QiSS) national kite mark from Christ College, Canterbury at the annual Playing for Success National Conference held in Stratford upon Avon earlier this term.

A great deal of hard work went into the recognition process but the award is a testament to the work which is going on at the Diamonds Study Centre and in the 153 Study Centres, based at professional sports clubs, representing 15 different sports, right across the country.

The QiSS scheme promotes quality in the provision of study support and, therefore, thoroughly scrutinizes the evidence that it needs from a centre before issuing its kite mark.

This year is the tenth year of this government project and our successes with young people are now being replicated at many top sports clubs across Europe.

Helen Thompson, Chief Executive of Rushden & Diamonds said “We are delighted to be able to support Northamptonshire County Council in the free provision of state of the art building facility for the Eastern part of the County.Sport can provide other avenues to enhance the learning of children, particularly for those where a mainstream approach is not always the best learning methodology.”
