The key aims of the PfS programme are:
- To provide a supportive, innovative, dynamic and stimulating learning environment.
- To raise pupils’ self-esteem and nurture independent thinking.
- To develop challenging and relevant education programmes that use the study of sport as a route to other knowledge, skills and understanding.
- To raise standards in literacy and numeracy in line with the national literacy and numeracy strategies.
- To create opportunities for pupil success.
- To provide regular feedback to schools and parents.
